Memo of Arrangements for Fleet Match.

Invitations
The Private Secretary of the Governor should be called upon in the morning and asked whether the Governor would be present. As if so an invitation should be sent after the following formula.

Sir,

I have the honour to request that you would be good enough to submit to His Excellency the Governor or the Admiral (as the case may be) that he would please to give his patronage and to be present on (date) at (place) on the occasion of a cricket match between the Fleet and the University.

To The Private Secretary, Government House, Hobart

Or To The Flag Lieutenant of Admiral

Invitation cards were obtained to the number of 150 like the sample posted in the Minute Book.

Sent one to Flag Lieutenant and Officers of Flagship, Captain and Officers of each ship in Port, Head Officer and Officers of each corp of Defence Force and 20 blank cards to Secretary of Fleet team. Also The Chancellor and Vice Chancellor and Members of Council, Professors, Members of Senate and Undergraduates, prominent members of Society in Hobart and suburbs and friends of members of the Club.

These cards of invitation were sent this year to Reverend George Clarke, WJB Mather, Professors Williams, McAulay and McFarlane, Messrs T Stephens and RM Johnson; Reverends J Scott and T Kelsh; Hons. W Moore, NJ Brown, NE Lewis,; Bishop Montgomery, Doctor EL Crowther, Messrs Ward and Kingsmith; Colonel Cruickshank, Chief Justice Dodds, Justices Clark and McIntyre; Reverends S Buchnell and HH Anderson, Hon. Arrangements
The following ladies formed a committee to arrange for afternoon tea; Miss Liby Clarke, Miss Isa Mather, Miss Giblin and Miss R Maxwell.

Provisions were supplied by friends. Members of the Ladies Committee and Mesdames McAulay, Williams, K Butler, Waller, Urquhart, Hudspeth, Scott, Ansell, Young, KK Butler, Counsel, Piesse and Clarke were the principal contributors.

Application was made to the Flag Lieutenant to ask the Admiral for the Flagship's Band which was courteously granted.

Arrangement was made for the Chancellor and the Hon. NJ Brown to receive the Admiral and Mrs Pearson.

A note had been received from the Private Secretary Government House to say that the Governor and Lady Gormanston would be unable to be present on account of their being away from town on that date.
