Scooter to represent Tassie at U19 level for the third time.

Scott 'Scooter' Nichols has been selected in the Tassie U19 team for the third year in a row.

Scooter was selected in the Australian U19 team two years ago but has suffered injuries of all sorts since then. Most have been cricket related but his latest can only be put down in the 's**t happens' category. Half-time at an Aussie rules games (that Scott was only watching) he did the normal thing for supporters of that code and headed onto the ground for a 'kick around'. Went for a mark and broke (badly) a finger. Very badly, with cartlidge severed and so on.

Last Saturday saw Scooter make his first appearance for University this season. First Grade game! He can hold a bat and bowl ok. Had to play the game to show the TCA that he was right to join the team. His dad, his doctors, the club coach, the vast majority at the club thought otherwise and were less than keen for Scooter to return to playing and risk long-term injury.

Tell that to Scooter (who wouldn't think of any other option) or the TCA (who should think of any other option)!

So Scooter's off to Adelaide with the Tassie U 19's again. We wish him all the best on, and off, the field and hope that he returns in one piece.

There's coverage on the CA website.
Cricinfo also covered the series and have a complete array of stats too.
