Prize Money and Trophy on offer for the (Third Grade) Player of the Finals.

Katie and Paul McNamara from Terry White Chemists (New Norfolk) have again kindly donated $500 prize money for the best players in the finals series. The best player in the finals series will receive $250 prize money and the perpetual trophy. The second best player will receive $150 and the third best player will receive $100. All prizes and the perpetual trophy will be presented at the T.U.C.C. Annual Presentation Dinner on Saturday, 31st March 2007.

All third grade players involved in the finals will vote on the best players using a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 voting system (5 regarded as the best player) at the end of each final. The captain of the team will disseminate the voting sheets at the end of each final. Players are encouraged to think carefully before voting. The player with the highest number of votes, as voted by their team mates, at the end of the finals series will win the award for the Best Player of the Finals. The judges reserve the right to the final decision on the winner.

Chris Topp won the big prize last season. Brad Thomas and Stuart Alexander were joint winners and Joe Hoang won the third prize in the 2004/2005 season. Andy Matthews took out the award for the Best Player of the Finals in the 2003/2004 season. Stuart Alexander will be out to win the Player of the Finals award for the second time! Stuart Alexander finished last season on a sour note when he was hit in the jaw by a full toss and broke his jaw in two places. The tragedy of the situation is that he was wearing a helmet! Let’s hope Stuey can finish this season with a premiership medallion around his neck.

We thank Paul and Katie for making this award possible as it gives all players a bit more incentive to do well in the finals series.
