Now the dust has settled - Josh Bean and Ben Hilfenhaus.

It's been a big two weeks for a couple of Uni. players. They have both been given the chance to 'step up' to the next level. This article will profile them in their reverse order of other media/internet coverage!

Josh (Beany, 'painter-in-residence') Bean has been the outstanding purveyor of "RA fast spinning swinging cutting deliveries" in the TCA for many years and made the TCA team of the year in 2004/05. His performances with the ball the previous and subsequent year were no less and, finally he has been incuded in the Tassie squad. Unpaid - so he has to keep painting! Beany has added a new dimemension to his game this season, being promoted from 12 to as high as 7 and has produced some wonderful shots and match-winning scores.

His intro to the Tassie training took him by surprise! Being a useful Footy player and used to pre-season stuff was nothing to what he met during his first week with the Tigers! Arriving at Uni. training after a day at Bellerive he could barely make it to the bar, let alone the nets!

We hope that he gets a chance to play for Tassie (he's already played in the 2nd. XI) and can show off his skills to a larger audience.

And now to Hilfy. The debate within the Club about his being the first Uni. player to represent Australia (due to his inclusion in a Twenty20 game) didn't actually have to happen! A few days later he made his Australian debut at Bellerive in the one day series, against England. First over was a maiden, roars from the capacity crowd and then took his first International wicket wicket next over.

To complete this fairytale thing, Ben took the catch to end the game and was hugged by Punter! There's a great picture of the event, but Getty Images want us to pay $1,350 to use it! Anyone who has a similar pic. and would just give it us? The BBC 'TMS' web page had an amusing quote - "another Aussie retirement - this time Ben Hilfenhaus from bricklaying"

So Hilfy is now one of the 6 quicks vying for 5 places for the World Cup. We've been saying for 18 months that he'd be in the team and haven't changed our minds! With Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee back for the next game it looks like Hilfy won't play at Brisbane on Friday.

Maybe Tassie will give him a rest too - he can play his last game for Uni. before heading off to the World Cup?

Hilf and Beany bowling in tandem for Uni. Once more - please!
