Morro off to Boarding School in Switzerland.
No. Chris' parents haven't won the Lotto and therefore can afford to see the back of him for a while! He's off to coach cricket as an assisant to ex. Uni. player George Campbell, now working as the Sports Master at Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, a Swiss International Boarding school.

We featured an article on George's arduous employment and mundane cricketing scenery a couple of years ago - it can be seen here.
George emailed us recently with the following offer:
"The reason I am emailing is that every summer I employ a cricket assistant from May the 29th to July 14th and then again from August 28th until October the 6th to help run the cricket in my school. In the past I have always had the same person but now the cricket is getting big enough for me to have 2 people helping.
I was wondering if we could start a link of some sort where the TUCC send out a junior every year for the role (min. age 17)
The job entails:
· Running training for about 15 kids
· Doing one to one training sessions
· Playing for the school team against adult opposition.
· Helping to organise and run cricket festivals and tours to different areas of Europe.
We would provide, food, accommodation, 40 francs (43$) per day pocket money and a maximum of 1500 francs ($1600) for the flights.
The person does not need a have much coaching experience or have done his level 1. Just be keen and good with kids.
During the holiday period (July 14th to August 28th) he can either come to England and I can sort him out club cricket or he can use this opportunity to travel.
I think this could work out to be a really good opportunity for whomever wishes to make use of it."
And so did we! This amazing offer was advertised within the TUCC and Chris had no hestitation in accepting it.
Just a few minor points to organise - passport, visa, work permit. Not a problem one would think! Think again. Lost visa applications, delays all around, George contacting the Swiss embassy from his end, Morro and family likewise from Hobart. Bit of a shambles actually!
Finally it was all sorted out (just a bit late) and Chris will head to England to meet up with George (and the school team, who are on a tour) before hitting the Alpine cricket pitches.

Nice scenery Morro!
Chris will arrive in Switzerland around the 28th of May and stay till the 6th of October. During the holidays he will be staying with George in England and playing lots of cricket for local teams in the Sussex area. George will spend time working with Chris honing his batting technique (which George knows lots about) and working on his pace bowling (which maybe isn't the case). Given Chris' amazing bowling performances in the Under 17's last season he should scare most Swiss batsmen and quite a few in English Club cricket too!
We wish Chris all the best in Switzerland and thank George for his initiative in establishing this rapport. We hope this association will continue into the future and provide our younger players such an amazing opportunity for many years to come.
