It's not a limited overs Finals series is it?
The format of the Grade competition was altered a couple of years ago to include one day games (Kookaburra Cup in First Grade) in the overall ladder.
Personally I have never been a fan of this for reasons too many to explain here. But the inclusion the shorter version of the game in the overall ladder seems to
skew the chances of teams that play the longer version of the game better.
Just for the record: below are two ladders - the left the current overall ladder with one round remaining, the right just includes results from two day games

It should be pointed out that those teams that enjoy success in the one day version get their chance at a Finals series in First Grade anyway - the Kookaburra Cup.
Their position on that ladder reflects solely one day games and does not include points from two day games.
So, why does a Finals series to be fought over two (or three) days include points from the 50 over version? Answers on a postcard please.
I hasten to point out that in lower Grades, the same correlation being applied, is to the detriment of Uni.
