TUCC Wins 2nd Grade Premiership

In a dominant display the Uni boys had already grabbed first innings points on Day 1 and resumed on Sunday looking to bat North Hobart out of the game.  After TUCC were dismissed after lunch, North Hobart were looking for quick runs in the second innings in the hope of a miraculous comeback but it wasn't to be as they were dismissed for just 87 runs to give the TUCC boys a huge outright victory.

Shannon Bakes was the hero with 94 runs and seven second innings wickets, while Ash Winter followed up his century in the semi-final with another 56 runs.  Tom Briscoe and Alex Saunders also formed a formiddable opening bowling lineup as they picked up four wickets each in the first innings.

Congratulations to the boys who have gelled nicely in the second half of the year, which bodes well for the future of the club to know that we have such talented depth in our squad.

1st Innings: North Hobart 117 (A Saunders 4/30, T Briscoe 4/40)

1st Innings: University 287 (S Bakes 94, A Winter 56, A Jackett 32)

2nd Innings: North Hobart 87 (S Bakes 7/19)

University win outright by an innings and 83 runs
