We are pleased to announce the following key coaching appointments for season 2018/19: Club Coach - Ben Harrison Senior Development Coach - Damien Wright Women's Coach - Katelyn Fryett Men's High Performance Coach - Ben Hilfenhaus We are very excited to welcome Damien Wright and his family to the club. Damien has an impressive cricket playing and coaching CV, having held senior coaching roles at the Melbourne Stars, New Zealand men's team, Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmanian Tigers and most recently the head coach of the Bangladesh Under 19 World Cup team. We look forward to Damien passing on his knowledge, enthusiasm and love of the game to the entire playing group and assist in the development of our men's, women's and junior players. We are also very excited by the appointment of Katelyn Fryett to lead our women's cricket program. Katelyn is a recent UTAS Pharmacy graduate and past UTAS Cricket Scholarship recipient, and has been a leading player for the Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmanian Tigers over the past decade. She has captained our women's side since joining the club in 2012, and has been an outstanding leader of a developing squad, where we now have talented players across all age groups (Under 14's, Under 17's and First Grade). We have seen significant growth in our female participation since the introduction of the WBBL, and this will only continue to grow in the years to come. We wish Katelyn all the best in her new role, and we look forward to seeing her develop the next crop of female talent for Tasmanian cricket. We were very pleased to have retained the services of Ben Harrison and Ben Hilfenhaus, who did an outstanding job last season in setting new standards for the playing group, and we look forward to seeing this build again over the next 12 months and beyond. Harrison will move into the role of Club Coach, with Hilfenhaus focusing on our Senior First and Second grade sides.
Tim Paine will remain in the role of Director of Coaching, and remains dedicated to the role despite his recent rise to top of Australian cricket as Test and ODI captain.
Bring on season 2018/19 and we look forward to seeing some old and new faces around the club.
