NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK

Today we recognise the great contributions of our senior cricketers.

Nick Grubb has made a fantastic contribution over many years as a player and volunteer. For the past two seasons he has been chosen as Men's First Grade Captain, and this season led a group of senior players to coach our Under 12 Stage 1&2 players on Thursday nights. He is a regular at covers crew duties and Roll Patrol, and there is a lot more to captaincy than tactics - whether that is organising uniform for players, warm up gear, team sheets - the works.

Clayton Braddick this year did an outstanding job as Third Grade Captain - often called the most thankless position at a cricket club. Team sheets, warm up gear, uniform, a few extra players and lifts to games were just some of the things he had to organise this season. Clayton has also previously been on our club committee our coached our Female Cricket team.

The standout leaders of our female cricket program over many years have been Katelyn FryettMaddie Blazely and Sasha Moloney.

Katelyn first joined the club in 2012, and at that stage was the only female player at our club, when Chas Rose took over the reins as Women's Coach. Katelyn has been a loyal player over many years and was Female Captain from 2012 - 2018, where she then took on the role as Head Coach Female Cricket. Katelyn has nurtured numerous young female cricketers over the years to progress to state underage cricket, as an excellent on-field leader which now sees us as having one of the leading female cricket programs in the state.

Maddie Blazely and Sasha Moloney joined the club in 2014, as they took on the tough challenge as co-coaches of our female cricket program. They were instrumental in developing our female cricket pathway from a coaching perspective. Outside of this, Maddie has been on the club committee for 4 years, co-ordinating club Awards Nights, social events, fundraisers and being a voice for female cricket. Sasha this season took on the role of Women's First Grade Captain, assisting with coaching whenever she could and led our Game Development with school clinics, Come & Try Days, and setting up our Junior & Master Blaster programs, as well as Under 14 Girls Coach.

Thank you to Nick, Clayton, Maddie, Sasha and Katelyn for all they contribute to our club!
