NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK - CRICKET OPERATIONS
Date of Event University of Tasmania Cricket Club: Sun May 26, 2019 5:00PM

Today we recognise some of our volunteers who make an enormous contribution to the club week in, week out in the Cricket Operations department.

Kim Hutchinson joined the club as First Grade Scorer in the middle of season 2016/17 and has been a wonderful person to have around the club.  His week starts on a Friday evening as he checks the teams that have been entered into MyCricket, and hoping there won't be any changes, and prepares team sheets for the team captain as well as downloads the teams.  For home games, he turns up earlier to give the scorer's box a once over to ensure it is welcoming for the opposition scorer, as well as any sweeping needed around the clubrooms.  Patiently scoring every ball with precision, Kim has developed excellent rapport with many other scorers from opposition clubs and represents the club with distinction, and technically was our leading run-scorer last season!  Kim is very reliable when it comes to delivering scoresheets to CT and representing the club at scorers and umpires meetings.  We look forward to Kim's role growing in the future as we look to become an innovative club utilising live scoring and video streams for our teams on the weekends.

Melissa Stevenson - well what doesn't Melissa do!  Melissa has been our Junior Cricket co-ordinator for the last three seasons and has taken on a massive workload overseeing 12 junior cricket teams and supporting our game development programs.  From organising team uniforms, to scorebooks, equipment, MyCricket, come and try days, team nominations, junior presentation nights and general communications, Melissa sure knows how to keep busy.  Melissa is the person that everyone turns to when a problem needs to be solved relating to junior cricket.  She has also supported our senior programs with uniform management and sales, as well as being a regular at pack up days at the end of the season.

Rob Braithwaite is our resident handy man.  Rob is always fixing things around the club - first it was the lock on the roller door, then holes in the cricket nets, then the lock on the roller door again, drilling holes in walls for framed photos, minor works on the amenities and generally anything else that needs doing!  Rob has been on the committee for 4 years and is currently Club Secretary, where he has played a key role in ground management and covers duties, and has also been a great captain of our 3rd Grade side in recent years.

Thank you to Kim, Melissa and Rob for all that they contribute to the club!
