Hurricanes Youth Academies
Date of Event University of Tasmania Cricket Club: Tue Jun 25, 2019 9:00AM

Congratulations to all University Lions players who were announced as part of the Hurricanes Youth Academy.

The Lions were the second highest represented club across Southern Tasmania, which is a great credit to the players efforts throughout the trial process.

"The Hurricanes Youth Academy is a great opportunity for our players to further develop their games with the support of Cricket Tasmania coaching and talent staff, regional coaches and access to the indoor and outdoor facilities at Blundstone Arena" said club coach Damien Wright.

"The program is designed to support skilled male and female cricketers who demonstrate talent and character traits required to succeed in cricket, which is fantastic, and it greatly complements the tireless work all of our coaches put in throughout the season to support our junior players to be the best cricketers they can be". Wright added.

"It's a great sign for the future of the club that we have players coming through our junior programs and are being selected as part of the Hurricanes Academies, which plays a vital role in the player pathway.  One of our key purposes is to develop players to the next level and to represent Tasmania, and hopefully we can identify and develop the next Tim Paine or Sasha Moloney in the coming years." said President Charles Rose
