Tom Hawkes 3-5 Ben Aaltonen 2-12 |
The University U/15s went out ready to face South-Hobart Sandy Bay. Before the match got under way captain Joe Collidge won the toss and decided to bowl on the wet wicket. South Hobart Sandy Bay got off to a good start being 0/31 off the first 10 overs. In the 11th over Ryan Patmore dropped a caught and bowled chance but then in the next over Tom Hawkes struck sending them in to a minor collapse. At drinks they were 4/47 with Tom having figures of 3/5 and Ryan Patmore 1/8. Ben Aaltonen struck with his 1st ever U/15 wicket then another in his next over finishing with figures of 2/12. At this stage we had them 6/80 and they ended up making 8/102. Chasing 102 off 40 overs. The boys were happy with their effort in the field and hoped we could get the runs eaisly with Joe Collidge and Ryan Patmore opening. Things didnt look good after Collidge was run out in the 1st over for 1. Things went form bad to worse with wickets falling at regular intervals. There was some fight shown by Larry Owen, Ashley King and Jack Vickers who got us through to drinks at 7/16. Then 3 balls after drinks we were bowled out for 16. A bad effort with the bat but well done in the feild hopefully things will go better next week and thanks to Ross for coming up and supporting us. |
