Well it felt good to win today, well done guys We started in the field and generally fielded fairly tidily throughout the day, the few mistakes we made helped them on there way to their score of 217, which set up a pretty good chase for us to get, at just over 5 runs per over. Well done to Olli for his 4 wickets. After last week we decided to open with Ross & Sam again. There where signs Sam was on his way to another good score but holed out to a good catch by 3rd slip. Ross certainly helped us off to a good start with 41 runs off 57 balls before being trapped LBW, Will Robbo came to the crease after a couple of weeks off and looked pretty good, but then miss-timed one and was caught for 20 runs of 23 balls. Captain Hugh came to the crease and was moving the score along at a good rate to bring us back to 5 runs an over with his big hitting and a big 6 to make 26 runs of 27 balls before a good catch saw him dismissed. This brought Fenna & Ellis together, who after a period of settling in were left with 74 runs to get of the last 10 overs. Some excellent running between wickets by Ellis & nine 4`s & a valuable 6 by Fenna saw us reach 222 in the 38th. over. Ellis ended up with 39 runs of 35 balls & Fenna 69 runs of 65 balls faced. Thanks to all the guys for their support today, it was a good win with a intelligent batting display |
