Report (by John Perry):

(Day 1). Good day guys

After wanting to bat 1st at the cross roads, but losing the toss we were sent into the field and had to bowl on what looked like a good wicket to bat on. Clarance has 2 batsmen that they open with and boy are they frustrating. Anyway after a mix up in the middle we managed to have one of them run out after they had managed to conslidate a 80 odd run partnership, Well done to all the bowlers who had to endure this because you bowled well for little reward. With the opening pair separated we were able to pick up the remaing 9 wickets for just over 100 runs. 10 for 189.

Thanks to Scooter today for his efforts today.

Our reply when we had about 15 minutes of batting time left is now 1/27 with Ross & Sam Boxsell to take up the challenge next week.

(Day 2). Well, what do I say but well done guys..

After our 1st innings of being all bowled out for 112 and 2 batters down it looked as if we were going to do it a bit tough for the remainder of the day. But trying to bat all day at around 2 runs an over to achieve 1st innings points didn't seem to work to well for us..

Then we were set 151 runs to get off 30 overs and a sniff of victory sets in, our attitude changed and we began to see what our team is made of..

Well done Ellis who set us up with 49 runs off 42 balls with a partnership of 57 with captain Hugh. Small hiccup with Fenna, but then Rossco & Morro came together and put on another partnership of 58 in good time to just about see us over the line, until Morro was run out..

Sammy Boxsell couldn't stop his rush of blood and it was not long after he came in he went back out. Robby Hortle and Rossco saw us through to the end with a good outright win over the Clarence side..

Guys it was good to see you back yourselves in your 2nd innings with only 17 fours (68 runs) and the rest of the runs in 1`s, 2`s and 3`s. We saw good cricket, good calling, good backing up, good running with your shots to put the fielding side under the pump, admiringly there where some close calls for runouts but with you kept applying the pressure and they were making the mistakes which allowed maybe a tight single to turn into two runs and some time three..

OK one more game. What I would like to see is more of the same whether we are setting a target or chasing, If we apply this same sort of pressure we will be in the finals
