Report : (by John Perry)

(Day 1). Well what a start! It looked like we were going to have forfeit late sat night and sun morning with only 7 of our origanal team available to play.

Thanks to everyone who rang around to help with putting a side together and getting us over the line and making it poosible to get the first innings points as it stands at the moment on day 1.

What a warm day, but I feel it could have been worse if we were not playing down at Kingston were the temp I guess was around the low thirties. With only 10 on the field our bowling had to be off side and the bowlers did a great job in achieving this, as well as keeping it well pitched up. Jackson Swain came back on after Lunch when it was 4-67 and turned that into 7-67 with a great 3 wicket maiden. Well done to all the bowlers.

Our batting opened with Morro and Fenna, Morro came out swinging and was soon back in the change room for 9. At 1-30 Fenna was looking GOOD with his big hitting, with some form coming back before he he hit his wicket following through on a 4. Ellis and Olli came together and when Olli went for 9 this was enough to put us in front for 3-99. Ellis had a patient knock for his 22 before holing out, picking the fielder out nicely. Courtney had a good looking knock for his 42 before being stumped. With Tom Ritchie & Jackson Swain to keep it going next week with the aim of gettig 100 in front before having to go back into the field.

Some of us took the time out for a swim at the beach before heading home, wasnt too bad either.

(Day 2). Well we tried for the outright with Jackson Swain & Tom Ritchie putting on a quick 50 runs & with Josh Archer helpeng with his 11.

With plenty of time up our sleeve not the problem, the rain was, making that ball like a cake of soap and putting the chance of the outright out of our reach.

Anyway we had plenty of laughs prior to going out to bowl with the guys getting right behind our last 5 batsmen.

Just a quick note that I would`t mind having a BBQ after our game next week at the Uni Club Rooms
