The guys were off to a good start with the batting but only posting a total of 130 runs to defend was going to be difficult. Well done Olli for your knock of 43. It is only early in the year & we are finding our feet, but we will have to try and concetrate (and I know it is hard to concetrate for long periods, because I have plenty of trouble doing that). You guys need to have those Experienced players communicating to the newer players out in the middle to what the best way to go about working as a team when battting together. Well done on your bowling today; you where asked to keep the ball up & you guys did a good job in doing so, with the damp out field the ball wasnt running away to the boundary & they where not able to reach our total of 130 till into the 37 over, so lets keep going and get into these finals. Maybe some things we can think about are: - If someone is batting well in the middle, his partener holds back on his rush of blood & prepare to stay around - when batting work in blocks of ten runs at a time, & then start agaain to build a score - 40 over games possibly no need to put the gas on till 34-35 overs - wet days look at working more singles than trying to hit to hard for no run - always first single as fast as you can to create pressure for the fielding team & to make 1run into 2 runs - talking as a pair , tell the other guy you will be looking for 2`s - be aware of your pateners running ability, fast ,slow? - Bowling - be aware of conditions and bowl accordingly |
