Report : (by John Perry)

(Day 1). The ground was in good shape and New Town went into bat. The news from the scorers was that they were not a very good batting side and the bowlers did a good job in dismissing them rather quickly. Well done to Sammy Boxsell on his 4 wickets & Courtney for his first 3 for the season, a good catch by Morro parallel with the ground assisted the bowlers.

The order for the batsmen was for every one to aim for a 100 runs, with Morro & Tom Ritchie sent in to open. They were off to a good start with Morro looking good, Tom poked at a wideish ball & was gone for 7 & a parteneship of 30. Ellis came in next & took a while to settle but Morro kept the score ticking over well, both players had a chanceless innings except for a near stumping for Ellis. Well done Morro for your confindent knock of 132 & well done Ellis for valueing your wicket for your 58 runs. Great partenership 174 runs was added before we declared & sent New Town back into bat.

It was good to pick up 1 wicket before the close of play, just a quick one guys, keep that ball up on ther toes with only a few overs to be bowled & get your value for money.

Lets wrap it up next week guys & get those outright points we are after.

(Day 2). Well done guys, not as quick as we thought we could knock them over but that's cricket.

Well done Morro, you had a good innings with the bat, decided to go and do your back in during the week and then come Sunday clean up with the great results of 5 wickets. Well done to all the bowlers and thanks to all the guys in the field.
