With James Maddock as this weeks captain..winning the toss and electing to bat...saw him and partner... Josh Boxsell.. both out for 1 a piece as they where bowled within 2 balls of each other... leaving Tom retiring on 2.. and Will bowled on the 12th ball... Hugh retired on 9.. with brother Oliver bowled in his second over...!!! Great foot work tho boys excellent batting...Selwyn stayed put till he was bowled for 5.. leaving the remaining over's to... Kade and Jock..with Jock going the "TOK" and hitting 5 4s.....Kade retired on 11.. Jock on our highest score.. 26. Although Tim and Oscar didn't get to bat...they opened up the bowling with great confidence ...Oscar bowled with minimal runs..with Josh taking the first wicket...and... Selwyn taking the first catch...Kade bowled with excellence being on a hat trick...taking a total of 3 wickets and one catch...!! "Call for the ball" is one thing keeper Will and.. 1st slip Tim will have to learn.. after colliding head on leaving Tim with a very sore head...( Will had his helmet on ) !!!! Jock being our Pace bowler..."Fathers' orders'....bowled with only 2 runs of his over's...the twins Hugh and Oliver bowled with only 5 runs of 5 overs'...great effort...Tom followed through with 1 run of his 2 overs'....Tim who was in slips.. stoped the opposition hitting boundaries leaving them with only 69 runs...!!! Well fielded team... Great effort boys....remember.. practise your foot work keeping your eye on the ball...!!! An absolutely great game by all the boys.. improvement up 100%... Player of the night goes to " Kade " receiving his giant freddo frog for his outstanding effort as an all rounder....... Thankyou mums' and dads' for the support...alcohol..and.. the bbq....To date.. I have only had to give one parent the 'red card'...I won't mention any names...but he knows who he is....Remember no parents are to yell from the sideline....only the coach...!!!! Oh and please make sure the boys have their patches sewed on....and their Uni caps are to be worn at all games....!!! Thankyou.... Yours in cricket... Manda |
