Sth Hobart won the toss and elected to bat on a gusty, damp day. Uni had several players missing and were able to field a team of only seven, including Matthew C from the under 10s. Never the less the boys bowled and fielded exceptionally well and restricted Sth Hobart to 106 for the loss of 4 wickets. Best bowling Joseph Miller 2 for 12 off 4 overs. James Cherry 1 for 7 off 4 overs. Uni batted sensibly but were unable to get the required runs being 5 for 72 after the alloted overs. We lost wickets at crucial times, and due to the number of players weren't really able to take advantage of the solid start. Best batting James Cherry 18 n.o Richard Maddock 15 n.o Ben Wisbey 13 A special thanks to Matthew Cherry (9 yrs) who acquitted himself very well in the field, returning 0 for 9 off two overs and then keeping for 10 overs. |
