Played at Olinda Grove, 5th. and 12th. November 2006.

(Day 1). Uni won the toss and batted against a very well oiled team, been together for about 3 years apparently. Uni scored 105, with major contributions from Captain Ben Read 37 and Ben Altonen 25. Jack Luck 14, also batted for a long time and is showing great improvement with the bat. The openers of Nick Edwards and Richard Lovell stood up well to the new ball. A greater value must be put on their wickets, by some of the middle order, as had they dug in better we could have salvaged a respectable 150 + score. By the close of play North Hobart were 130 for 0. Play continues next Sunday at 1 pm. (Day 2). Uni`s bowling showed improvement and our batting in the 2 nd innings consisted of a fine 32 not out by our new recruit Nick Edwards and 24 by Cam Jeffrey. We are showing good steady improvement and look forward to the coming matches. |
