Owen Swain 3-32 Ben Aaltonen 2-23 and |
Last week Uni fielded and New Town scored 7 declared for 285. A fast outfield and some wayward bowling didn`t help our situation. Best bowling was Owen Swain 3/31, Ben Altonen 2/23 and Liam Perkins 9 overs 1 /16. On Sunday University batted and unfortunately two key batsmen Nick Edwards and Cam Jeffrey received very poor umpiring decisions which didn`t asist our chances of a solid run chase. There was some promising contributions from Tommo Bilson showing a return to form with 21 and a lusty hitting session by Jack Luck who hit 3 beautiful straight drive sixes in his top score of 32. University were out for 110 in 44 overs. Victory to New Town. New Town then batted again and University bowlers and fielders picked up the accuraacy and intensity and New Town were 7 / 101 at stumps. We were left rooing what we could have done in the field last week , with such an improved performance. Well done to all players. Paul |
