Report (by John Perry):

Good day guys I am not to sure where to start with our fourth loss on the trot, but with a lot of cricket still to be played yet we will keep forging ahead.

Before we go onto the not so good parts we will look at the good parts, or I might just tell it how it was, ( I think so ).

Tom Ritchie won the toss & we settled on sending them into bat. Robby Mallet took the new ball but found the going tough from keeping the ball from going down the leg side, and when they weren't down leg they where on the short side and went to the boundary. This helped North get onto a reasonable start. Jack Young again was reliable with the ball and certainly did his part with his 2 wicket maidens, Brad Barry Largerewskij came on next to take a wicket in his first over, and was looking ok but fell away slightly with 7 wides & a couple of no balls just to tarnish his figures a bit, but he managed to keep his figures down to 1-28-6 which in the scheme of things was still fairly tidy to some. Captain Tom Ritchie found the going really tough with 40 runs coming off his 5 overs and still finding it tough to keep the ball off the leg side with his 7 wides following on from his 11 wides last week. Then it was the spinners turn, Jimmy (my pet) to have a go, he didn't let the side down giving the batsmen plenty to look at. He soon had 2 wicket under his belt with 2-26-6, down the track in the next few games with some more protection will help Jimmy`s figures blowing out, Ryan Patmore came on for two overs, but with 22 runs this is all he got, Hugh burgess came on with jimmy & with his figures of 2-32-9 the two spinners did a great job to ebb the run flow and keep the score to 224

Now with our turn to bat, the ever reliable Hugh burgo Burgess came on with Jack Young and gave us a solid and steady start and neither looked worried, that was when the rain came and we had to do some homework on how to get the D/L system into place. With the help of the Umpires this wasn't as hard as it looked & we soon had a revised total to aim for after losing 1 hours play, but with only half an hour of play came into the system. With our new total of 191 off 36 overs we were under the pump a bit because we didn't quite have enough runs on the board leaving us 6-7 runs an over to chase,

This pressure we have been putting on ourselves with two games now giving away 37 extras this week and 35 last week have certainty putting undue pressure on our batsmen. With this in mind if we can knock out these extras you guys are well up there, and we could have just as easily have 3 wins under our belts. Anyway Burgo again gave us look at his disciplined batting for his 42, Jack young is just doing it a bit tough at the moment, but still shows signs that there is still things to come, Olli Robinson`s 5,

I think does not really reflect what he achieved out in the middle with his ability to pick up the pace with the 1`s & 2`s he can manufacture, If he works on working the ball around for the first part of his game we should see some good stuff to come, Courtney's first game for the year had him under the pump, but I have seen hit a pretty mean ball in the past but it wasn't today finding the toe of his bat & mid on. Brad Largerewskij certainly rose to the task as he pushed the fielders all to the boundary to get his 20 off 11 balls as we tried to chase downs the runs, Brad did a fair chunk to the work to set us up for a win, and with the field back the ones & twos where there for the taking, with the big hitting still on his mind he didn't quite see this and holed out on the boundary which was heading for a six, Ryan Patmore tried but came unstuck as one did not get up and he found his stumps broken by a low ball, again this si bad luck we have to go out and bat in these kind of circumstances,

Tom Ritchie & Andrew Millhouse were doing their part out in the middle and I think sensing it might be getting out of our reach did not throw their wickets away and were there to the end

Well guys I`ll see you during the week and I might just have a look at our bowling
