After 3 overs Glenorchy were 2/10, thanks to a run out and a wicket taken by Joseph Miller. Glenorchy then settled and the score moved steadily along to reach a total of 5/96. Trevor Derbyshire took a wicket in his first match for University with the catch taken by James Maddock. Hugh Johnson took the next wicket with a spectacular caught and bowled. Kogo Fujiki, captain for the day, bowled well for 3 overs and was rewarded with the last wicket of the day. At 3/12 University's innings was looking a little shakey. Ben Wisbey steadied the team with a great effort and ended the day with 41 runs (two 6s and five 4s). Batting sensibly together Joseph Miller (11) and Kogo Fujiki (18) moved the score to a winning position and University ended the day at 9/99 in the last over. Well done to all the boys who played in a great team manner. A great start to the season. |
